THANK YOU

A huge thank you to the Bow Horn Bay Fire Department for assisting on Wednesday morning by moving bins from storage and setting up our exhibit tables. Thank you to Cindy, Terri, Dianne, Kelly, Rae, Catherine, Ashley, Don, Kim, and Cory for their hard work decorating the hall and preparing the displays.

Thank you to Corey, Adam, Thomas, and Don for constructing our outdoor setups, and to Brian at the Feed & Garden store for installing wasp traps to keep our attendees comfortable.

We are grateful to Karen Bull for donating the stunning dahlias and arranging the display table; we feel truly blessed to feature your flowers every year. And to Ashley Brown for her generous donation of the hand painted photo stand-in at the front gate!

Thank you to Kelly, Kathy, Barb, Rae, Val, Fran, Dianne, Hilary, Cathy, John, Leigh-Ann, Bobbi L., Kavitha, and Betsey for managing the intake day. This is consistently one of our favorite days of the year, as it provides a wonderful opportunity to connect with the talented artists, growers, and bakers in our community while admiring the amazing work you bring in.

Thank you to Kelsey and the team for setting up such a beautiful well cared for display of needlework art!

Thank you to Rae, Amy, Betsey, Eileen, Fran, Val, Hilary, Cathy, John, Bobbi L., and Cathy for your help on Friday preparing for the judges and adding the final touches to showcase all the beautiful entries, and finishing the outdoor set up.

Sending extreme gratitude to Ken, Gordon, and Betsey & her group for doing such an amazing job keeping the parking lot organized and safe!

Thank you to Amy and Corey for managing the golf carts to transport supplies and guests around the fair, and to Muhua for doing an amazing job overseeing the dunk tank. We also want to thank Brayden, Stuart, Robert, and the Bow Horn Bay Fire Department for volunteering to be dunked, which raised $188 for the Bowser Elementary PAC!

A special thank you to the Lions for their ongoing support and for providing their delicious fried oysters each year.

We also extend our gratitude to the Bow Horn Bay Fire Department for their presence at the fair, ensuring our safety and assisting with any emergencies.

Special thank you to Rae, Fred, Bobbi S., and Cheryl for running the admissions booths throughout the day, and to Ray and Sharon for providing them with much-needed breaks!

A special thank you to Kim and Victoria for processing all the entries and judges' votes to prepare the prize money and ribbons, and to Kathy and Kelly for managing the kitchen and keeping all the volunteers well-fed during the four days of prep!

We also extend our deep appreciation for Barb for coordinating the judging; and to the judges for making time to come see what our community makes.

And to very special thank you to Dianne for organizing such a fantastic group of vendors, to whom we are also very grateful—we thoroughly enjoyed shopping and supporting the wonderful local handmade goods Vancouver Islanders have to offer.

We are grateful to have had Lorey & J.C. running the Silent Auction again this year, and all of the preparations it entails, and to Leigh-Ann & Linda for running such a fantastic Cake Walk!

Thank you to Parksville Fenceline for donating the fencing, and to Tayco Courtenay for donating delineators each year, as well as to Crystal for driving up to Courtenay to pick them up! And thank you to Darcy with EverGreen Exhibitions for always working to improve our internet in the area, which is no easy feat!

And to Absolute Septic, Bouncerama, Isle Golf Carts, and Magical Faces for their fantastic set ups and takedowns. And to the amazing entertainment; Mount Arrowsmith Pipe Band, Coombs Old Time Fiddlers, Fred Penner, DJ Connor, and Completely Creedence! And thank you to the delicious food trucks, we wish our stomachs had room to try every single one!

We are also grateful to our club Board of Directors, and to President Lore Bewer and Vice President Robert McGregor, for the months of planning and the hard work involved in scheduling the entertainment, activities, and securing community sponsorships and support, and for being there every step of the way - from set up to clean up! We also wanted to extend our gratitude to Jo-Anne and all of our past presidents, for your dedication in keeping the fair running these past 57 years.

Thank you to everyone who contributed this year, those who have helped in the past, and those we hope to welcome back next year! While the fair day itself is always impressive, witnessing the dedication of everyone working behind the scenes to make it happen is truly special.

We hope we caught everyone, and please give us a shout if we missed anyone, as we wanted to make sure we extend our gratitude to everyone that devoted their time.

As we wish we could have taken more pictures on the fair day, if you have any pictures you would like to share in the comments, we would love to see them!

With Love & Gratitude,

The Bow Horne Bay Community Club
